MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur: Filing of Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) for the Marawi City Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (BSK) Elections next month will be held from August 23 to August 30, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said Friday.
Aspiring candidates will have eight days to file their COCs.
Almost 80,000 official ballots are set to be used in the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) polls in Marawi City next month, the Comelec said.
Comelec spokesman James Jimenez said that they are looking to print a total of 79,289 ballots for the September 22 polls in less than a week.
“Printing (of the ballots) is scheduled Aug. 27 to Sept. 1,” he said.
A total of 53,009 ballots will be for village voters while 26,280 ballots are for youth voters.
The election period will run from August 17 to September 29 while the campaign period will be on September 12-20. - With a story from PNA/RSP
